„In the exhibition Collected Currents, the artist collective Dünne Jungs and the artist Barbara Proschak enter into a mutual exchange. Installative landscapes, sound, video and exaggerated image hybrids ­ intertwine to form a multimedia network in the space and leave the question of their explicit authorship open at first glance. Dünne Jungs and Proschak have devoted themselves collecting in different ways, and reorganising objects in different ways. Streams of thoughts condensed in recombined objects and materials. In the works on display, the artists recapitulate parts of past productions and thus focus their actions on the brief moment of the present - on the current state of things. Landscape of Questions + Answers meanders like a river through fissured textile landscapes and allows collected events and impressions to flow through the space as a collective experience in an acoustic collection.“

The audios were to be heard on the four headphones free to access whenever one felt like spending some time on the cosy seating arrangement Landscape 04. In addition one could draw oneself a small glass of tea from the Fountain 02 while watching Proschaks video installation, images and the depressed BMW-Cloud Cry Me A River across the room.

For the third exhibition of the Series Landscape of Questions + Answers, Dünne Jungs approached their ­ interviewees in a new setting. Unlike in the past, this time the artists did not interview ­ spontaneously and on open streets but approached clubs and individuals in and around Stuttgart in advance to ­ invite them for a ­ conversation. The resulting interviews offer new possibilities: In arranged meetings, ­ sometimes at the interviewees‘ homes, space was deliberately created for the exchange of ­ experiences and ­ memories. The basis for these ­ conversations was a catalog of questions, ranging from ­ superficial to personal and sociopolitical topics, which were used freely or depending on the situation. In eight ­ interviews, ­ intimate conversations and intensive dialogues emerged, which then expanded in the ­ exhibition space and ­ opened up to the audience.


The Curtains serve thereby as thresholds, which to cross meant to enter this space of questions

and answers and which once passed created a protected atmosphere for personal thoughts.

The ­ audience was invited to ­ listen, to engage with the stories and with what is being said, and

to give space to ­ possible questions and insights.


In this context, it is worth mentioning that although the invitation to participate in the interviews was ­ addressed to people regardless of age, sex, gender, profession, etc., only women responded, all of whom, can also be located within the context of care work, as mothers, caregivers, teachers, etc.

In the second exhibition of the series Landscape of Questions + Answers, Dünne Jungs pre-

sented recordings taken during interviews with over 50 passers-by in and around Hamburg.

The basis for this was a questionnaire that allowed a free, but also situation-dependent access

to the conversations. The questions ranged on a broad spectrum: from superficial to personal

and socio-political. Answers were recorded, weaved into a tapestry of sound and were then

presented in the rooms of the Galerie Ladøns. You can hear stories, anecdotes, opinions and

comments from very different kind of ­ people, whose encounter outside these rooms remains

improbable. In this way, the artists nevertheless ­ succeeded in establishing a dialogue between

them, while at the same time allowing visitors to break out of their own thought bubble and ad-

mit new perspectives. The sculptures served as intermediaries between the interviewees and

the audience, inviting them to sit back and listen. With the composite aesthetic, the collective

also refered to the audible contrasts, while the individual image motifs were inspired by the

narratives and people.

Solo Exhibition at Raum für Drastische Maßnahmen, 2022



The spatial installation Landscape of Questions + Answers is an experiment. The goal was to

make a diverse crowd of people experienceable in a visual and auditory landscape, to gather

them and connect them in a new way.


With a note full of questions Dünne Jungs set out across Berlin from Marzahn to Zehlendorf

to elicit answers from a wide variety of people. „We wanted to find out what the residents tell

us about their preferences, their habits and their being-in-the-world. What occupies our fellow

human beings and how do they experience this time?“ The answers from different realities and

life plans were translated and transformed into an installative work in the exhibition space. The

interviewees became co-authors of the work, shaping the different platforms on which their

stories can be found.

DÜNNE JUNGS
Dünne Jungs is an artists' collective founded by Ariane Koziolek, Pia Pospischil, and Lynn Scheidweiler in 2017. Together they delve into the realms of performing and visual arts, employing an experimental and playful approach. Their work is centered around creating holistic experiences within spaces, using different mediums such as sound, interviews, installation and film, to emphasize the impact on human perception and interaction. Engaging viewers and encouraging their active participation is a fundamental aspect of their practice, as they believe in the power of collective exploration and reflection. 

The transdisciplinary works of Dünne Jungs have been exhibited, among others, at the Centre of Contemporary Arts in Brussels, at the NachtsichtFestival 1 &#38;amp; 2 in Stuttgart, at the Long Night of Museums in Stuttgart, and at the Kulturfabrik in Esch-sur-Alzette. Their first solo exhibitions took place in November 2022 at the "Raum für drastische Maßnahmen" in Berlin, in July 2023 at the Ladøns Gallery in Hamburg, in October 2023 at the Kunstverein Wagenhalle in Stuttgart and in March 2024 they showcased their series Landscape of Questions + Answers at the Galerie Mitte in Bremen.

Two young women storm a caravan and plunder the 
owners' supplies. The salty peanuts are soon empty and
 there are only the boring unsalted ones left and there
 is no salt to be found far and wide. Coincidentally, there
 is a science show on the small television that reveals
 that tears have a high salt content. As a result, the
 women go on the hunt. They catch and torture men
 in golden speedo pants in the forest. They use their
 tears to flavor their peanuts.

Group exhibition in Stuttgart, 2018
 On the occasion of the Long Night of Museums 2018 
we participated in a group exhibition. The place of the 
exhibition was an old abandoned bunker with a long corridor
 and many small cells.Our cell was located in the middle
 of the corridor and was a vivid experience for the visitors.
 Through a curtain of white paper strips one entered the
 tiny room (approx. 1m x 2m area and 2,30m height). 
The white paper curtain turns out to be parts of a wallpaper
 which is attached to all four walls. On it you can see a 
forest at dawn. The floor is covered with lots of polystyrene
 packaging chips. In the middle of it there is a big black 
wind machine. It is connected to the electricity but not 
switched on. A female voice can be heard from an invisible
 loudspeaker. It is Lady Gaga, who is asked by a reporter 
about Marina Abramovic. In an overly enthusiastic tone of 
voice, the singer raves incessantly about the artist. "Oh my 
God she is limitless!"In a trashy but also sad way, our cell 
represents a life-size snow globe. It originates from the 
fictional question "What do people do who have to spend 
their lives in such a cell?" Our answer: we would need a place
 of longing. If you turn on the fan, you can escape the reality 
of the bunker for a moment.So we were all the more pleased
 that the visitors of the Long Night of Museums actually 
reacted and pressed the "on-button". The packaging chips 
flew around, people discussed in which position the wind 
machine worked best and our snow globe became an 
instagram sensation for one evening.

Direction: Pedro Martins BejaFor the production of the ADK Ludwigsburg's third year 
of acting studies, we created a special version of 
"Alice in Wonderland". Lewis Carroll's writings are only the
 basis for the search of the ten Alice(s) for the wonderland.
The stage is separated by a high wall. In front of it is only 
a barren piece of artificial grass and behind it the tips of
 three bushes can be seen. Is this the Wunderland? How 
does Alice get behind the wall and who are all the strange
 creatures she meets on the front side? On her journey, 
norms and boundaries, attributions and classifications become blurred. And who exactly is this Alice?

Thebes is stirred up by a divine power that upsets the existing order: Dionysus and his intoxicating cult - the members are all women. They have come to the grave of his mother and demand recognition from the city.For the play about the celebrated ancient god and his wild female followers, we dealt with the concept of ecstasy. The result is a square room in the middle of the audience: a white dance floor and walls that are made of white tulle on all four sides. The fabric is placed in different densities so that the room appears more or less transparent. The audience is thus invited to watch each scene from different angles throughout the entire duration of the piece. The three actresses tell the myth and slip into their various roles with the help of costume fragments. These always build on the basic costume: sports underwear (sports bra, spandex, leggings) in skin tones of all kinds.
